'68 1800 rearend. Is it valuable? 1800

Parting out a '68 1800, and was wondering if the rearend may be something that should be pulled and sold? I was thinking vintage racing if there was rules about using the drum brakes over discs.

I think it's the only year 1800 with the drum brakes and newer trailing arms. Probably need to include trailing arms and the body mounting points. I don't want to do all this work if it's not worth anything.

I have a 1800 disc setup for my 122, and I'm planning on welding on the mounting points (cut to include correct measurement placement):

I've never looked at a '68 axle... but I doubt it would be anything different than a '67...

It would, however, but amongst the last with drum brakes... *maybe* for some odd reason it would have 27 spline axles. I'd check that... if it's got 10 spline axles... it's nothing special. *Unless* someone needs one fast... But if you find it's got 27 spline axles... I think it'd be worth a lot, as one could get LSD for it. I doubt it does though.

If you are able to easily dispose of the car sans rear end, I suppose it's worth keeping around... or at least the axles and brake parts...

67, 68 and 69 are Dana 30 disc brake rears with coarse 10 spline axle shafts and spider gears. Although they are probably stronger than then the earlier Dana 27 cars, they still have a weakness at the key on the taper and so are not used anymore in vintage racing in the US where all clubs that I know of are now allowing an upgrade to the disc rears for safety. In Europe the drum rears are still required.
