Help 960 wont start 900 1992

While driving the car stopped, now it won't start.

The WSE transmission light flashes back and forth and the arrow is on in the dash panel.

I put my foot on the brake pedal and moved the gear lever through all the gears, the car still won't start. The engine just turns over.

This is what I know so far.

1/ No power supply to pump.
2/ Checked full pump relay and found contacts burnt. I cleaned the contacts.
3/ After repairing relay full pump pressure was 320KPA
4/ Checked for spark. No spark from ignition system
5/ Checked fault codes. None logged
6/ Checked coolant sensor, okay
7/ Thought crank angle sensor was the problem, replaced with a new one.
8/ Still no spark from ignition
9/ Thought ECU, replaced ECU car still won't go.
The same thing happens engine turns over, WSE lights flash on transmission and arrow light on dash is on

Any ideas what the problem could be.

Thanks.

Steve

Yes! This happened to me just a few months ago. I had the blinking light on the WSE thing for some time and I went to start it one night. Absolutely nothing happened. Our trusty mechanics at Eurauto in Cincinnati diagnosed it as the transmission switch. Things have been going swimmingly ever since. Good luck!

A problem I had on mine, was the ground wire to the power stages which power the ignition coils was not attached, it is located from underneath, on the intake side, that side's engine mount bracket, where a wire bundle is held in place by a plastic wire chase, one of the two small bolts for the plastic cover should have a ground wire attached to it, that wire would be on the top side of the engine mount bracket.

There is a test socket for the ignition system after the relay, it is located at the rear of the head with the connectors for the RPM and cam sensors, it is a female single wire, white/red, it should read battery voltage to ground with ignition on.

Also, you can swap the ignition and injector relays, they are the same part number.

If it is not either of those, then it may be a broken wire some where and some fault tracing will be needed.
