I cleaned and lubed the fan in our '88 GLE and it lasted about three years. Watch out for the screws that hold it in, it is pretty easy to strip them.

Yes,but you must remove it,and the bushings must not be real sloppy.Use a spout oiler bottle for electric motors,available from hardware store.Lube the motor from the inside,through the vent hole.The motor is a snap to remove and if worn out is only about $50.

i dont know, but you can buy one for a GM car and its the same.

It's not likely that you can reinstall virginity in that fan.

Maybe if you're lucky you can find a good one at the boneyard.
But your labor isn't free and you can get burnt and need to do the job again.
At some point your labor is a factor when you are facing the purcghase of a high priced replacement part.
