metal lines in power steering gear(camgear) 200 1991

GROTON SAYS I HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE UNIT. THE VOLVO DEALER HAS THE LINES FOR $120.00. WHO'S RIGHT? ANYTHING I CAN USE BESIDES GOING TO VOLVO? THANK YOU.

The lines seem to be dealer-only items, I think, but you could have some built up at a hydraulic repair shop. When mine rusted out on my '92 945T (Koyo rack), I bit the bullet and bought them from the dealer. It was -15 deg and the fittings were really rusty, so I farmed the job out to a local indy.

If your rack has lots of miles on it, or the inner tie rods are less than perfect, a remanufactured rack is probably a better deal. Putting new lines on a rack with "morning sickness" or loose joints is false economy.

If money is tight, have a look around the local pick-and-pull-- you might find a good one cheap.

Good luck!
