Has any one replaced their wiper assembly before. I picked up a good unit to replace mine. At present it's looked up in the wipers up position. I have an A/C evaporator under the dash that will make access tight. How long might this job take?

It all depends on preparation and happenstance.

With good luck and the right tools, maybe 3 hours.

On early 122, the wiper assembly is held on with phillips head screws and I have had them strip and/or break, so if you can, prelube with some penetrating oil.

FYI, on earlier 122, the wiper assembly is retained by 4 screws or bolts. The later assemblies use only 2 of those screws, but are directly interchangeable.

FYI, be very careful around the capillary tube for the temperature gauge as it is easy to kink or break.

While the earlier units are interchangable with the '68 units, The '68 (and later) units are a cable style unit that doesn't get the slop in them that the earlier (linkage and gear) ones get. Thus if you have the '68 style unit and just the motor is bad, I would swtich motors and use the cable style linkage.
