Door panel removal 200 1980

Can anyone enlighten me on how to remove the two phillips-head screws at the top of each end of the door pockets at the bottom of the front door panels, you know, those pockets that seem to accumulate junk at lightning speed. It appears the screws go through to the door frame. Thanks.

if memory serves.. you need not remove those. Just remove all lower screws and push up on the pocket from the bottom... the pocket should slide up and off them upper screws. You'll see how it works...

Once you've got the map pocket off, you can remove the screws in order to remove the whole door panel.

Make sure you've got all the lower screws removed. (that is to say, be able to pull the bottom away from the door panel a tad.

You are absolutely correct. The three fastners are turned 90 degrees and will pull out. Carefully lift the door pockets up, and away from the door panels. Then you can access the phillips screws and the thimbles that allow the door pockets to attach. The remainder of the door panel is straightforward, with the caveat...When removing the armrest, remove all three screws, and then you have to rotate the armrest to allow the tang in the top of the door pull to clear the slot in the door frame. When reinstalling the armrest, index the upper pull into the slot, and rotate the armrest down to the correct position. It is easier than it sounds.
