Source for only the fiber timing gear? 120-130

Seems to be getting tough to find just the fiber gear. I'm not looking for the set, just the fiber gear.
I check the usual suspects, but could only find it at IPD. Everyone else seems to only sell the sets.
IPDs appears to be Scan(Scam?)-Tech, and I'd prefer to avoid that brand if possible.
Anyone know of other sellers out there?

Properly installed ( and that's not likely with most ) the fibre gears will last for years. Steel Volvo gears are the best for sure.
I don't advise placing a new fibre gear on a used crank gear. I have often swapped in good used, matched sets, over the years. The gears wear in to each other over time.
The fibre gear must be restrained with a counterhold in two of the three holes in its front face, and NOT held with the crank gear during torquing. They'll blow up quickly if that is done.
If you are looking for a matched, used set, I've got some.

    Hello,

I've got some NOS original SWAG fiber cam gears and complete NOS SWAG fiber gear kits in stock.

I've also got a non-Scantech cheap alternative cam gear. It is made in Japan and I have not had any reports of premature failures. This cam gear looks and feels like plastic with the usual metal center hub.

Is there any reason you are not using a steel timing gear set?

I recommend to my customers, for ulitmate reliablity, a steel timing gear set. I sell the steel gear kits cheaper than Volvos suggested retail price on their fiber gear kit, but a little more than IPD's price for a Scantech fiber gear set. The steel timing gear set I sell does come with a thrust plate while the Scantech kit does not come with a thrust plate.

I would agree with Eric. The effort to put in a set of timing gear is worth putting in a set of steel ones. Even on a stock b18, I put in steel and have been happy with it for the last 60,000 miles. Before that I varied between 15,000-40,000 miles for fiber ones. But that average doesn't include the fiber one that blew up on start up. Yes, it got 0 miles on that one.....
