K-Jet to Webber Swap 140-160

I have a 74 142 that has been in my garage since 1987 and i am in the process of getting it back in action, and the question I have and hopefully someone has done this, is swapping out the old k-jet system for a carb setup. Any advice on the swap would be great.

thanks in adavance,

mark

    Is your K-Jet injection toast?

Something you'll need is a different fuel line from the 1/2" pickup to the 5/16" fuel pump & something to block the return line in to the tank.

Ya the k-jet is in tough shape, the return line and the vapor lines are all rotted. I just dont want to deal with all the hassels of trying to clean and figure out all the little issues accompanied with it when I get the motor back in. Ya if you want all the stuff your more than welcome we can come up with a price. email me. marky0823@gmail.com

    Side draft webers? OK!
Downdraft weber? No - go with SU HS6 or HIF6 carbs on an earlier manifold!

Going with Mikuni HSR 42s or 45s on an early aluminum SU manifold is even better.

A quote from Christopher Georger who installed them 10 days ago:

Was that changing from a single Stromberg?

It was a change from dual HS6's, though he had also had weber DCOE's on it.
No dyno on this engine since the change.
The object is to get power similar to the Webers with fuel economy as good or better than the SUs. We have documented both on other engines.

We are still waiting for some evidence!.

How about a back to back test between twin HS6 vs twin HSR42's on the same stock B20B?

Got any facts to go with that statement?

How do you manage to beat twin 45 or 48mm DCOE's for power without doing something wrong or beat SU economy?
