Floor Jacking S90-V90

Hi,

I have a 1997 960 wagon and am a one car garage weekend mechanic. I use a floor jack and safety stands to get under my cars. I jack up my 240s by the front cross member between the wheels in the front and / or by the differential pumpkin in the rear. I'll then put jack stands under the rocker panel jack points to hold it up and for safety.

Can 960 / V90 cars be jacked up the same way? I'm particularly concerned hurting the rear multilink suspension system.

Thanks,

Mark

Floor Jacking S90-V90

I am not sure. The 960 is havier on the front. The rear suspension may no be as solid at the center as a live axel.
I made the cross bars on the pictures with 4 inch steel chanel. About $60 total. The short one goes on the frame from the middle on the car to the front where the engine seats. Then the jacks stands on the regular place and remove the cross bar from under the car. The large one is reenforced with double channel, becase is much longer and it flexes more. That one goes on the regular places for the jacks and once the car is lifted the jack stands go right under and the cross bar remains in place. Hope it give you and idea. I use them on all my volvos 940's and 960's
