Very strange behavior - '91 940 Turbo - electrical???? 900

I have a 1991 940 Turbo that has become possessed. When turning the steering wheel quickly all the dash lights across the bottom of the dash come on. If turning the wheel slowly the lights come on dim. Turning the wheel quicker brightens the lights. Car is running ok but has some other issues.

When creaking the throttle open quickly the engine responds with a metallic knock before the rpm's increase. It has thrown the following codes:
2-1-2; 1-2-3; 2-4-1-; 2-2-4. This part is solvable but the steering/dash lights situation is indeed puzzling. Anyone have any ideas???

RE: the turning issue. Take a close look at your battery cables for wear and chaffing or corrosion. You might also have chassis electrical wires contacting the steering column.
