Aftermarket Center drive shaft support bearings 200 1989

Anyone have any experience with aftermarket support bearings and rubber support ring? FCP Groton has some good prices on them and the budget is a little tight right now.

Sorry to start a new thread, just thought it would help if someone were to do a search in the future on aftermarket parts.

I just replaced my bearing & the rubber center support bushing (donut) over the weekend in my 89' 240 sedan. Bought the kit from FCP Euro, I don't recall if they had more than 1 option. I think it was Febi if I recall correctly. Note that it can be done by just removing the front part of the drive shaft, I didn't disconnect the aft part of the shaft - just left it supported on a jack stand. I've only put about 15 to 20 mi on the car since repair but all seems good. I did however also replace the bolts & nuts connecting the drive shaft to the transmission since they are supposed to be single use.

Good that your search turned up a thread I'm in. :)

Anyhow, the parts I installed must be OK since I haven't heard a peep out of them since '08, or most accurately, I've never needed to change a driveshaft bearing I changed before.

Also cool you followed the advice on single use fasteners I usually ignore.

    Hi Justin,

I've used one of both sizes, packed by Scan Tech. They looked good, fit well, and the smaller one put on my 79 has a couple thousand miles on it now without complaining. The one I just put on an 89 seems fine, but has zero miles on it.

I guess I can't tell you how long they last, because I don't drive enough.

Ahh, here comes the UPS man now, with more parts from all over the world.

    Art
