Radiators for sale for my 240 200 1993

Nissens is about 150 bucks on eeuroparts.com. There are sellers on Ebay offering replacement radiators for about 100.00. Anyone bought a radiator on Ebay for your brick?

Ended up going to AutoZone 200 1993

I got one there for about 100 dollars. I needed to do the job that day so my son could take the car back to college. New hoses, thermostat, heater valve kit, 4 hours labor and it is done with no problems. Boy that old original 1993 radiator was an accident waiting to happen. The plastic nipple on the driver's side of the radiator was a chocolate brown color and it flaked off like chalk by scraping it with a fingernail. Thanks!

Nissens where the way to go for awhile. The Volvo brand was a lot of bucks and had a weak top bung. There where some problems with some of the recent Nissens and Volvo lowered their price a lot and put a metal insert inside the top bung so I think Volvo is the way to go for now. I have a 240 with the Thialand Radicon brand all metal that was in the car when I got it and it seems to be holding up ok.

That is an Aluminum/plastic radiator, correct?

$150 is about the best price you can hope for from a reputable vendor.

I think that most of us switched to all-metal radiators when our first plastic/aluminium radiators blew off their top nipples and left us stranded.

Brick owners have a very low tolerance for breaking down out on the highway. Once you have replaced the crank position sensor, put in an all-metal radiator, put a spare fuel pump relay in the glove box, and the belts and hoses are sound, you can rest pretty easy that the brick will always bring you back home at night.

I put all-metal radiators in the '90 and the '91.

My quick look just now, however, didn't turn up any all-metal radiators that would fit. Demand must be declining.

There are some here who buy junkyard rads and have no problems. I never would. I also wouldn't buy a no-name triple lifetime rad. Too important on Volvo 245 (especially with auto since easy to cook trans). It's very cheap insurance. Buy a Nissens, 3 row, HD (or the plastic OEM if you have access to a deal and want to go that route).

I was at the pic&pull last week and saw a radiator that was aluminum and not painted that looked new but I couldn't find manufacture tag. I was wondering If it was worth buying? I see alot of places like Jeg's selling aluminum radiator's.Is an aluminum radiator better for cooling? Charlie

You could try 1-800-radiator as I remember. They carry metal ones made in Thailand but they are good and with a lifetime warranty. Knowing they are made overseas you can negotiate better prices. Last time I talked to them they try to get you to take it to a recommended shop and stuff so you may not like their new way of trying to do business. I bought on so long ago that they didn't do that. So far I haven't tried to claim a new radiator. Works good and I trust it a whole lot more than a plastic tanks models, even though its about 7 lbs. heavier.

You could try RPR in San Pablo ca. They carry metal ones and in standard and a tropical heavy duty. One more cooling pass I think.

Think they may be cheaper than IPD. They are competitive on stuff.

I bought a Nissens for 745T years ago and it was in that range based on inflation. Scrapped the car, still have the rad, but I have the multiple Volvo fever.

Parts is parts

Decent part for the $ in my opinion
