Hi all!

We replaced the ignition coil on our '93 Volvo 240 and there is still no spark for starting it... Any ideas on what to check next?

Why was the coil replaced? An attempt at curing the no-start?

I'd bet on a crank sensor if there is no spark.

Last time I got one they were $29 at FCP Groton.

No spark most likely means three things: (a) faulty ignition coil, (b) faulty Power Stage, or (c) faulty crank sensor. Of course, there is also the possibility of broken wire to these three items.

If the spark plugs are wet and no spark suspect the power stage.

If the plugs are dry, suspect the fuel system. No fuel=no spark on these cars. It could be as simple as a bad fuel pump relay. Or a corroded fuse #6.

Check the FAQ's (shortcut link is in the upper right corner of every page here). The FAQ's are written for the 700/900 series, but 98% of it applies to the 200 series as well. Especially no starts on late model 200's like yours.

test the power to it. if theres no power check the crank position sensor

Here's a trick I used when my car got no spark. I waited till night, took the car into a dark spot of the driveway, took a spray bottle of water, and sprayed all around the spark plug wires and distributor cap. Then I made my son stand outside in the dark and tell me if anything sparked when I hit the starter. That revealed a problem in the wires. I can't speak to the wisdom spraying those sensors and coil though. It may ruin those items. Have to check with greater minds than mine's on that.
