Brake booster causing idle surge: need replacement (OEM, used, aftermarket?) 200 1993

After much testing, I've come to the conclusion that the brake booster on my '93 244 is bad. It is causing an idle surge during the warm-up process, usually only on cold mornings. One can tell it's tied in or due to the brakes somehow.

Have any of you had this happen?

What suggestions do you have on a replacement?

Thanks,

Brake booster causing idle surge: need replacement (OEM, used, aftermarket?) 200 1993

I'm not sure how you can be certain it is the brake booster, but here is a different reason why a car will idle poor when cold but smoother on warm up - the injector o-rings are worn. they shrink when they get old but expand a little as the engine heats up. try spraying a water mist at the injector base while cold - if the idle smooths out momentarily, that's your problem. Post back how you eventually fix.

    Looks like a cheap fix:

That was an ASE question that had everyone stumped! Short answer: it is the check valve for the brake booster.
