Mixing Volvo brand coolant 700

I found some older, say 3 years, Volvo brand coolant on my "car stuff" shelf. The label is identical to the new, blue, stuff ($31/gallon!), the part number is the same, and the ingredients are the same - except for the lack of a "bittering agent" in the newer stuff. Only difference is that the older stuff is greenish, not the deep Volvo blue of the newer coolant. Seems like it should be okay to mix them. Do you guys think it should be okay, except for aesthetics?

Yes. From now on get yourself the cheap green stuff from wall mart. It will save your block, radiator, water pump, etc. RED is EVIL!

You know that propylene glycol is clear until the packager puts in the color. I buy the stuff in 55 gallon drums and have it colored to our spec(pink). There was one for only GM models a couple of years ago(I think Delco) that was orange and really screwed up the radiator if mixed with a universal coolant. I don't know if that is still available, but I stay away from orange coolant, just in case.(Wally World coolant is ok)
