960 fuel pump relay 900

Guys

On this site the 960 fuel relays and several others are said to be hard wired into the board - I certainly can't get mine out! On my 760 there were some little tyags which had to be depressed but I can't see any on the 960 and the relay is in there absolutely solid. What is the answer? Do I really have to remove the entire board to unsolder the relay - or do I have to (gulp)buy a new board with the relays already fitted?

Thanks

John D

You may want to look around the strut tower driver side. Some old models have the fuel and injector relays in the engine bay. Two of them alike on the side of the tower. Newer 960's have the fuel relay in the fuse box left side of the steering wheel.

Hi
As far as I can see, according to the colours of the wiring leading to them, the ones on my inner wing - on the strut tower are for the injector relay and radiator fan.

Amazing that no-one has come up with a definitive list for each model. Volvo ring the changes too much I guess.

No for the fan. That one should be by the head light passenger side. If you see two relays alike by the tower, are both fuel related
