6th ignition cable 200 1991

Hi there,

One episode of my long quest for a smooth idle (my other long, unattractive post...) was to replace the old wires with new Bougiecord ones. I replaced the 4 wires from the distributor to the plugs, and one to the coil. Makes 5. But the wire set came with a 6th, sort of long, one. Where does that go?

My elementary school experiences with bicycle repair taught me it's not good to have left over parts.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Boerre

I just got a set of Bougicord wires for my 240 it also came with 2 coil wires. One for the 240 and one for a rex regina 940.
I have also had Bosch wires that came with 2 different length coil wires but both for 240s. I keep the unused one as a spare.

Hi there,

The long one may be included to make the kit work with a larger number of applications. For instance, my B21F's coil is on the passenger side, so the wire has to follow the plug wires across the cam cover and leap over to the right fender.

That makes sense, thanks!

Yes, I suppose it makes sense, but only people with weird one-brand car habits (like me) would be expected to pick up on this.

Now the question is, what can you do with it? Too pretty to throw in the trash.
