How do you remove the rear seat in a 242? 200

Well, the subject pretty much sums it up.

    How do you remove the rear seat in a 242? 200

    There is a latch on each side of the rear seat bottom where the seat bottom meets the carpet. You should either be able to push back against the bottom of the seat and unlatch it, or on some you have to insert a fairly large common screwdriver and release the catches. For the seat back, there is a bolt on each side of the car where the seat back framework is bolted to the floor pan. The upper part of the back fits into a hook and slot arrangement. Once the bolts are out of the bottom of the seat back, you lift the back straight up and it comes out.

      How do you remove the rear seat in a 242? 200

      To expand on what stickbuilder said---move both front seats forward and tilt the back rests forward to give yourself room between the front and the rear seats--it takes a fair amount of heft (leverage) pushing rearward to get the seat hooks out of the floor mounted catches--you need to push rearward/downward and then upward to get the seat released. There's a third hook in the middle at the rear--I don't know if there's a technique for that one--I've always had to muscle it loose. You may be surprised at what you find under there.
