Please help 900

Hi, everyone.
I have a 1993 940 turbo with 157K. I encountered the over drive problem.
I bought ipd's solenoid bypass plate. But it still won't go in to 4 gear.
I am completely stunned. Any help would be much appreciated.
Ben

I had this problem on a 740.....as i am not conversant with your model...have you changed the relay that sits behind the big ashtray in front of the gearchange lever and also you could change the switch in the top of the gearchange lever....the relay solved my problem........

You may have a bit of trash in the O.D. spool that is preventing the shift into O.D. If this is the case, nothing external will cause it to shift. I would drop the back of the tranny down for access, remove the IPD plate and use WD40 with the straw to clean inside the holes in the as much as possible. Drain and flush the transmission fluid also, if it has been a while since it was changed. You might get lucky.

Regards,
