I also discovered today that the back up ligh of my S90 does not work. S90-V90

I check the light bulbs, they're o.k.
Someone says it is the neutral switch goes bad, but when I put the gear
selector in neutral, the car won't start.
And when I move the gear selector from R to P, the back up lights work for a nanosecond :), from P to R is all quiet, though.
If you have any ideas, let me know.
Thanks
Tom

What you describe sounds like a classic case of a malfunctioning PNP sensor. Try putting the gear selector in N, put the key in the ignition and turn to start and hold it there (you'll probably have to use your left hand for this) then with your right hand, slowly move the gear selector forward until the starter engages or slowly backward until the starter motor engages. If this works, you can check to see if the alignment of the PNP sensor is out, but most likely you will need to replace it.

I got under the car, and adjusted the PNP. Now all is fine. Thanks everyone.
