I'm in need of a couple hoods ("bonnets" for the Brits among us).
I'm hoping to find one for a 145 and one for an early 164. Both of the originals were bent
at the left hinge mount and straightening is probably worth more than the hood, if it can be done well at all.
Anyone in the central US that'd like to deal on such please e-mail me offline.

My '75 164's hood is slightly bent at the left hinge mount also, so it's most likely a common problem. Mine looks like it is due to rust forming on the underside of the hood causing it to crack right where the hinge mounts. I plan to pull the hood off and weld on a reinforcing plate.

When the hinge joints get stiff (steel against steel with rust) they get REALLY stiff so if you force the hood
down it will bend. An associate left the hood open on the 145 for several months in the winter and
I think that may be what happened with the 164 also - it was that way when it came to me.

Yes! It is a Mroon 72 164E with M410 and rally gauge set. From what he told me it is not far short of running.
Still filled with parts at the moment and I am trying to organize my garage with 3 generations of leftovers
at the moment so I can get some of them out of it.
Susan's son Ben made us great grandparents over the weekend. He is a very small baby but seems to be
doing well.
