High Mileage Badge - Metal Or Decal ? 700 1988

So my '88 740GLE just turned over 200,000 miles. Are the Volvo high mileage badges still those plastic decals that switched to about 2x years ago or did they go back to metal badges ?? Prefer metal but don't want to have to buy one off E Bay for crazy money. I don't like plastic decals. Cheep & cheezy looking.

I got the magnetic backed mileage stickers. They look pretty nice, I plan on removing the dealer badge in order to move them up to the center of that area.

OP back. Thanx for input / replies. Just what I thought but was hoping not to hear. Darned if I am gonna put cheep cheezy plastic decal on my car and darned if I am gonna pay $50 plus for a proper metal badge. Well guess I will just do without either. Funny thing is I sold one of my 240's last year and it had both the 100K & 200K metal badges on it. Was actually thinking of removing them but I felt that they belonged to the car.

Actually, all you get if you contact Volvo these days is a sticker and a paper certificate. You could go buy some of the old metal ones on ebay for $50 or so.

However, I recently discovered that the moose sticker guy ( http://www.davebarton.com/VolvoStickers.html ) has the old style high mileage vinyl stickers, but you can add magnetic backing for $1. So I ordered me all three since I'm almost about to hit 300k miles.

If you like I'll tell you how they are or I could take a picture when it gets here on my car.

I had heard recently that those were hard to get but i did not realize they were not sending them out at all anymore, or that people were fetching $50+ for one on ebay, thats crazy, ive got the 100 and 200K metal badges still in there packaging on the shelf over there, guess im gonna have to protect them even more now.

I was watching a bid for 100k and 200k in the packaging on ebay, I figured if I could get both for $50 I'd do it, but they ended up going for $78.02.

I forgot about the blue ones you can buy through Volvo, but they are not cheap with the expensive shipping nor are they very original.
