saga of bluewagon (1985, 245 M46 NA) 200

1984 Nov - Born in Göteborg, Sveden

1985 - I wake up in Seattle, WA, US. It rains lots here but my owner keeps me garaged at night. Hey, I can see Canada from my house!

1989 - Owner has new baby. Its a girl!

2000 - I am still in Seattle. Still same owner too. I notice a few of my brothers on the road and in the parking lots are starting to show their age. Sadly, I sometimes even catch a glimpse of them in the graveyard. Cracked dashes, bumps and bruises, faded paint. I guess I am lucky that I get brought inside at night.

2005 Jan - Although I have a teeney bruise on my front bumper, I'm still bright blue all over! All I need is some new shoes and maybe a transfusion (it's been a while) since I am feeling a bit rundown of late).

2005 Jul - Oh no... the baby girl is starting to grind my gears. Why is she always in such a hurry?

2006 - Wow, I just lost my spot in the garage to a young one. She may look a little smoother, and has a VOLVO badge, but I've got more class.

2007 Dec - I love the snow but all this rain sucks and I'm feeling a little arthritic. It's rather embarrassing, but I have started drooling all over myself too.

2008 Oct - Hellowww! I may not look like it, but I am hurting on the inside. You know, I really could use a walk every now and then. And would someone PLEASE open my hood?

2009 May - Well, I don't know what just happened. Some owner who sort of looks like a cave man was waking me up along side the road. I know he saw me drooling all over the place but I could tell he admired my almost perfect coat and uncracked dash. He shook my owner's hand and now Seattle is in my rear view mirror. What' s with all these trees? Where did Canada go?

2009 June - The caveman has fat clumsy fingers, a foul mouth, and doesn't seem very smart, but at least he listens to me. With a frown frozen on his face (though maybe it's just his unibrow), and blood dripping from his knuckles, he gives me some new rings and belts from a box of IPD, and FCP. It took forever but at least I'm not drooling anymore!

2009 July - Hey is that another box of FCP? He must have heard me grinding my teeth last time we were out for a walk.

Speaking of the wagon's saga... I just got a phone call yesterday with an update on our old beloved 240. In 2004 I gave my '82 wagon to a family in need of a vehicle. Recently they decided to move back to Bolivia and in the spirit in which they received the car, they have passed it onto yet another deserving owner. I'm really happy they thought enough of the car to warrant passing it on and letting me know!
