Front timing cover mod 120-130

Hi folks,

I have a B18 and have out the radiator, shrouds, etc. I am thinking of pulling off the timing cover as everything is exposed and easy to access. Does anyone have the machining specs to fit the new style seal as opposed to the felt version?

Thanking you in advance,

Marc

I haven't done that mod for some years, but I recall that the Elring seals had the three dimensions cast into the neoprene - OD, ID, and length. The bore in the housing should be the same as the specified OD on the seal.
A large metal lathe with a big faceplate is all that is needed to turn the housing.

Scribbled notes - 52 x 68 x 10 (mm) single lip seal. Genuine Volvo seal normally a double lip seal and this is preferred. 3-4thou interference fit.
Best to buy the correct Volvo part and go from here unless someone can confirm the above figures.
