Don't kill me, I had to get the down pipe replaced before a trip 11 months ago, and Meineke could do it right there and then. Well, they have a funky sharp bend up right before the cat converter, and it developed a crack right there.
Let's see how that warranty promise pans out...
I guess the question is, can I convince them to put in a pipe that fits without that sharp bend? Looking at Bosal pipe at fcp, they don't have a sharp bend there.

Their mufflers are guaranteed, not the pipes as far as I know. That used to be their 'hook'. They would replace the muffler for free but when the guy checks the Health of the Pipes with his 2' long handled Water Pump pliers he'd squash the pipes and state "we need to put new pipes on".
I bet they will try and mig weld it as it sits in the car.

I think they may put that bend in when they fit your car, and that's why it cracked. I hope they will see your point, and do right by their warranty.

Honestly I would rather buy one for $100 from fcp and have Meineke install it. Wonder if they'll go for it.

I paid dearly for my muff system from midas on my 91 740. I did'nt know better at the time..and yes they will get you for the inferior pipes they use.

Our Midas shop here in my town basically got run out of town after 6 years. They had some manager types of questionable moral fiber, and some ham-fisted mechanics that made me look like a Formula 1 car designer/builder! (which I most certainly am not!)
