Rear muffler replacement? 444-544 1964

I have a hole in my rear muffler :-( . I'd like to replace it with a new muffler, but the only one I've found is from CVI Automotive in Sweden, and I'd rather not pay the exorbitant price (more than the muffler itself) to ship it to the US from there.

Is there a source for these mufflers in the US? Alternately, does anyone know of another brand/model muffler that is an exact-fit replacement to the current rear muffler on a PV 544?

thanks

    Questions about "new' 740 700 1989

I just had the exhaust done on my 444 project (B20), using only the rear muffler from early 1980's 240 with turbo. That muffler is the right size with brackets in the right place for the 444 (and, I imagine, a 544). However, the bolts go the wrong way so it took a bit of adapting by the shop (maybe 10 minutes). I think it is 2.25" pipe. So if you want an exact replacement this is not the answer but it is an option.

Thanks, I've seen those already. I was hoping for something that would *look* very similar to the original - or at least fit with the same mounting brackets (and actually be a "real" muffler - not a glasspack/cherry bomb). If there isn't such a part, I'll likely just have one shipped over from Sweden...

Don't know what country you are in, but in the USA we have about 65,000,000 muffler shops and 99.99% of them can install a "like-stock" muffler vor about $65.
That said, I just threw an almost new one in the trash. Honestly!
