300,000 Miles! 700

Well, today our 1990 760 Turbo turned over 300,000 miles. We have owned this car since 2000. It had 143,000 when we bought it.

It has been a great car so far.

Major Repairs:

New Hydraulic Motor Mounts 2002 DIY
New Nivomats 2008 DIY
A/C Conversion
Replaced the Injector seals
Replaced Radiator
Two Timing belts
Oil Change every 3500 to 4500 miles
Original Mitsubishi Turbo

That's about it.

It's still a nice car. I need to replace the face of the front seats and maybe repair the seat heaters. Everything else still works.

I wonder how many people out there like me ... who have "badged" a car in the past and now have another car well on it's way to high mileage awards are now not bothering to get the badges. My 122 has a full set for the first million miles .... my 780 has turned 208,000 miles .... but I haven't bothered to get the badges for it. I think Volvo/Ford are missing out by charging for the badges.

I have the 100 and 200K badges but not displayed on the car. I would like to get a 300K but I understand you can't get them anymore. Somewhere I heard they have stickers but I can't find out where to get those.

Well done! The car looks fantastic!

I'm 5,000 miles away from 300k. I hope to get there next spring (2010).

Excellent to hear, and not that hard to do with a Volvo! My '90 740 had 290k and running the best since I bought it in '01, when it was hit this spring. I was actually keeping an eye out for a 300k badge. I'd have it still and am kinda looking for another, but cash impaired.
Btw, the parts guy at the Volvo dealer did not know what I was talking about when I asked about a mileage badge. Said he never heard of them. Damn.

Congratulations and a job well done!

One of my motivating factors for fixing my brick (needs engine) is to roll over 300K. I've only got 17K to go....

Happy Bricking for many more miles!
