Hello All,

Any opinions on fiberglass nosecones? I'm thinking they may not be rigid enough but I'd be willing to add carbon or gel to make it stronger.

Found one new for $400.00 shipped and that's cheaper than fixing mine.

planetman has once again shared his vast volvo knowledge made me aware of issues with the hood spring having too much pressure on the fiberglass...

I'm not ready for a fiber hood- so a weaker spring or reinforcement around the latch area maybe in order. I will look into this issue more before production of the nosecones.

Back in the late '70's when I was heavy into 122's there was a fellow in upstate New York who made fiberglass fenders, center nose and upper fender well repair kits. Noodling around the internets a while back I saw he is still in business selling accessory type stuff. Impact Parts is the name. Maybe he still has stock and/or forms? -- Dave

Backintheday when I had my 122, that was one part you just couldn't find anywhere. At least, find one that wasn't mashed or rusted. Or both.

I'm up 3 nosecones all pushed in by @-- drivers who hit and run!

Rear ending cars required to park a car... On top of the fact that auto body shops only have a working knowledge of plastics- not steal? What a world?

Is that for the 65? and later, or is it for the "early" style? I knew that fenders had been manufactured, but didn't know the all too vulnerable nose was available. I'll bet it'll work.

There is not a lot of difference but the early grilles with the polished aluminum
surrounds may not fit.
