Bilstein Rear resolution? 200

We all know that the Bilsteins on the rear suck for NOISE... has anyone resolved this issue?
I failed to retain my factory shocks to do an experimental swap with the bushing shafts... Why did i chuck them? My micrometer measured a perfect fit. 13.2mm and 17.3mm for ID and OD

Haven't there been a number of posters here complaining of noise from the Bilstein "Touring Class" shocks? I don't believe the problem relates to the HD (Yellow) units.

There certainly have been. I agree, in every case, it was the Touring not the HD, but beyond that I have no knowledge or experience. Always sounded to me like the sleeve size didn't match the bolt or wasn't properly cinched by it. Don't know which end either.

Hi Art,

In my case, some 5 or 6 years ago now, the noise was internal.
No problem with top stud fit at all.

Aside from one that leaked as soon as mounted & driven, the noise took several weeks to become noticeable (just on one side).
FCP replaced both with Sachs at my request.

HD's on mine too, no noise. Although there was a rattle after I insalled them, it turned out to be that while the shock was firmly mounted to the mount, the mount had come partway loose where it bolts through the frame. Tightened it and it's been fine for years.
