Dog Guard? 200

I've been looking for the Dog Guard that Volvo used in their 240 estates... My grandmother's old 1986 model had two of them that swung down from the roof.
Where can I find one?

Dog Guard available 200

I have one available for '89 and newer with the rear headrests in near mint shape. It will fit prior years. It includes all of the hardware and bolts/screws needed to mount it in either the up or down position.

I would sell it for $75 plus shipping. you can reach me at: normsprodigy at aol dot com

If you find one for sale (the metal one), there are some hardware pieces that you should get with the guard. They are the Mounting boxes that bolt into the upper rear seat belt holes (in the headliner), a couple of clips to locate the gate in the upper storage position, and finally the two loop clips and screws that mount to the seat back. Without all the hardware, you won't have a unit that is functional. I have one in my wagon, and I use it more for cargo containment than for our dog. Our Husky calls, "Shotgun," on every trip.

It's those very parts that i noticed in my "new" wagon that got me to asking... and memories flooded in of going on long trips to the beach and camping and that "dog guard" saved our 9 year old heads from getting a bag thrown on it.
I actually found one a few weeks ago in a 850... but since I've only owned a 244, till now, I've never needed to look in the cargo area of a 245... so I wouldn't know how prevalent that guard is in cars.
But oh well - not as important now... I had a blown upper Heater Core hose which busted the flame trap and... well... I got water every where.
*sigh*

There were two types of dog gates, the metal bar version and the "catch net" version, both swing down from the roof and were Volvo accessories. We got our "catch net", ie. soft version from Ebay roughly three years ago for under $100. I believe IPD sells an aftermarket metal bar version but I don't know if it swings up / down.

ps. My preference is the "catch net" version as we have tall Boxer dogs and were worried about "impact" under heavy braking. Shorter dogs would not have that concern.
