Adjusting timing on B230F

Is it possible to adjust the ignition timing on the B230F by turning the rear cam-mounted distributor? I had always understood that this was not possible, and that the timing was "fixed" on these engines, but have recently been reading that in fact the timing may be adjusted in this manner. Is this correct?

    Yes you can adjust the timing by rotating the distributor, but only thru the 88 model year for non turbo models, and thru the 89 model year for turbo models. After those model years, the timing is completely computer controlled and rotating the dist has no effect.
