Which brand plug for 96 940? 900

Car has 80,000 on it and I've had the car for 10,000 and just decided to look at the plugs. They are Volvo brand. Not sure how long they've been in there but I removed just one and it was very stuck - but did come out. So... does my computer expect a plug like the one I have removed. Would another brand with perhaps a different burn characteristic cause the various sensors to freak out. Or no big deal? That said, I'd rather just put in cheapo plugs if expensive plugs are just hype. So, any ideas? When I read about more expensive plugs they claim the spark is longer, etc., and so I wonder how that would indeed effect combustion.

Just installed a set of NGK BPR7ES in my 91 Turbo 940 wagon. I've been told the NGK BPR6ES are for the non turbo models as they run a bit hotter than the BPR7ES. Can't go wrong with NGK plugs!

Thought the final year for the 940 was 1995? (Check your door sticker for the date of manufacture.)

Been using standard copper NGK's in all the red blocks for decades now. Consistently good quality plug with many fans on this BB. The ones for a 940 are BPR6ES. Volvo dealer techs have advised me against platinum plugs in the red block 4's.

I've found Bosch's recent offerings to have variable quality. Many of their plugs are now made in India. That doesn't necessarily imply lower quality, but....

    I believe Bosch 7500 is a good replacement - $2 each.

Avoid all the super duper platinum, extra cool, everyone's gotta have it kinda plugs. Just go with the old fashion copper type.

Okay and I think I found one of those in my basement. Now I looked at Advance Auto and found the 7900 but not the 7500.

Their website says the 7900 works but I am wondering which is better and what the difference is.

I think the difference in the Bosch plugs is temp ranges. I've been using Denso Iridium since I bought a V70 R back a few years ago. I like them but at least for the R they are expensive. I don't remember what the ones for the 745 and 945 turbos cost.

First a correction : I really have a 1995 940 and not a 1996 (which may not even exist anyway). I guess I've always bought Bausch every since my early days with Volkswagons and I usually would just buy the cheapest ones. So, I'll just look for the 7500s. That said, when I look on the web it seems that various websites might have a link to the 7500s but actually sell the 7900s. Also, for those interested I saw a rebate form so if your going to buy Bausch you might want this link.
