Control arms bushing replacement 200 1991

I am certain that I have seen a pictoral guide to replacing control arm bushings, but I can't prove that certainty by finding the posting. I want to say that Art Bernstein was the author, though, again, I have no proof....it could all be illusion. Can anyone point me in the direction?

Certain someone can answer this one. IN THEORY, should control arms for an '86 244 GL be compatible with those from a '91 244 DL. Reason I ask is, I am thinking of pulling the control arms from the '86, which is currently not running and working the bushings....while having the '91 still available in case it takes a light year to do. Once the '86 control arms are done, I can swap out.

If you mean the rear ones then there is a photo guide on cleanflametrap.com. But havent seen one for the front ones.

No, it was the front, but I could have seen it elsewhere. I have the Bentley's and it is a good guide. Just don't want to spend hours burning, cutting hammering out the old bushings...and don't have a press. Maybe subcontracting out the removal and reinsertion is the way to go.

I just replaced everything in the from suspension from bushings to strut bearings. Several auto parts stores around have tool rental or loan programs with a bushing 'C' clamp kit that makes it easy. The one I used sells the kit to you for something less than $200 and takes it back with a full credit within 2 weeks.

My 28 year old 245 never felt so tight. On to the rear bushings.

I just replaced them in my 1992 240 Sedan and although I saw plenty on doing the ball joints, tie rod ends, struts and springs, I don't ever remember seeing anything in my research about control arms specifically. The Bentley book has a pretty great info under Front Wheel Suspension though.

I ended up buying new bushings from IPD--the CA front and CA rear--and taking them to Big O tires and having them take out the old and press in the new. It was 40 bucks for both sides. From what I hear about bushings, it may be worth the money...
