Starter Hesitation 900 1992

I'm getting a delay from turing the key to cranking on the 92 Turbo. I'm thinking this is due to worn brushes on the starter. Correct?

    Starter Hesitation continues 900 1992

OK 940 fans, replacing the starter at first seemed to solve the problem. However, yesterday I had another occasion where when the key was turned to start I got all the warning lights but no click or starting. After two tries it then started. I figure the other likely components are 1. starter inhibit switch or its adjustment. 2. Ignition switch itself.

    Any advice appreciated.

Could be brushes.... could be a sticky solenoid. The fix is pretty much the same: change starter.

I hope so. (Meaning replacing the starter is not too hard.) Possible sticking bendix.

    How much time?

First, check battery connections/corrosion and starter connections.

Try a few good taps, like a hammer or pipe, on the starter first and then try to start. This seems to free the bendix a little allowing an instant start. If this works, replace the starter.
