The Recidivist 240 Owner 200 1992

Well I'm back in the game again - I thought I would sell the yellow 77 Volvo and move on to a 2010 Tacoma or a Subaru Forester, but a meticulously maintained (complete service records) one owner 1992 245 with AC and 171k presented itself for $1600, and it was once again impossible for me to say no. It was easy to say no to car payments, increased insurance, and it was easy to say yes to what's familiar. With Bricks I'm a true recidivist - every time I tell myself I'm going to leave, I'm back behind the wheel of another 240. Glad to be here, glad to share the experiences, and to be part of the Brickboard. Thanks guys! Hopefully we'll keep this one on the road for a long time to come,

Webb Moncure

It's good to know that this 240 found a good home.

Good to have you around. I have a feeling that I'll be hitting you up with a more than a few questions now that you own a 92.

I'm pretty stoked about this car - not cosmetically perfect but mechanically the best I've ever owned. New transmission 30k miles ago, newish brakes, oil changes every 3-4k, regular tune-ups and maintenance, and even a brand new tailgate wiring harness to boot! The folks kept this thing very nice, and I plan on keeping it pretty close to stock - I only added a small clock and tachometer combo this week. I will remove the temperature compensation board, and fix the little nagging issues that are there. Hopefully she'll keep on rolling for a long time to come.... The only issue I can tell is there seems (I haven't quite diagnosed it yet - not enough time - inside tire wear meaning that it needs an alignment or some front suspension work, and maybe an intermittently binding caliper on the front left - however I only noticed the smell once or twice since driving it, and only once after a short drive. Never notice it after long drives. We'll see where I go with this thing - I log about 1,200 miles per month so any nagging issues will present themselves very quickly.
