Turn signal for RHD 120 saloon 120-130

One of the Swedish parts suppliers have a repro turn signal and switch but states that is is only for LHD and not column or RHD BW35. Unfortunately
the site is closed for summer break so I can't ask whether
the signal will fit a RHD 2 door. Can anyone advise what the BW35 stands for and whether these are universal parts. RHD's have the turn switch in the left of the steering wheel and the column cover is exactly the same for both RHD and LHD.

Cheers
Bilo

I had one of these. I think it ended up with Chris.

Thanks Danny

Yes I have been in contact with Chris and he has been most helpful.
Without taking my switch off we have ascertained the lower of the two is correct.

The BW35 stands for Borg Warner 35 and is the automatic trans available in the Amazon. As for the directional signal switch, check out http://global.gcp.se/global/catalogues/nav44362?type=sc and select the catalog for your model and then the electrical section, Group 3. There appear to be several different switches for both LHD (vst) and RHD (hst).

Cheers,

BW35 is an automatic transmission used in 122s and newer Volvos through 164s.

Midsommar was over a couple weeks ago - they should be back to work pretty soon!

The LHD switches are listed as being different for the BW35 car but there is no difference that I can find. I have driven a LHD BW35 car for the last 200,000 miles so I have go through a couple of turn signal switches. I have simply stolen one off an M40 car and that kept my own car running.

But having said that some years ago I got an NOS RHD turn signal switch. The mounting ear are different from the LHD ones. But one of the aussies I deal with was asking me about it. We traded photos and it looks like there is at least two mounting styles for the RHD switches.

I have not torn into the RHD amazon I recently purchased to see what style the switch is. It's working fine so I am not going to worry about it.

If you want photos, drop me a note directly.

Thanks
Chris

Thanks for all the informative feedback.
The company is back from break on 19th but seems like the switch should be fine
for RHD as well.
