240 Odometer--what does this spring attach to? 200 1990

Hi everyone,

Next to the reset button on my '90 240 odometer, there is a small coiled spring that I assume is used to return the reset button to the non-reset position. My button is broken off, so I simply stick a screwdriver in there to reset the odometer--this probably unhitched the spring, but I can't figure out where the spring reattaches. Can anyone tell me, or better yet, show me with a picture? Thanks!

I've attached a picture showing the spring in question.

-Ian

The shaft the reset button is on has pushed to one side on your odometer. It looks like it is hitting the electronics board. The shaft should be more centered such that the right end of the shaft sticks out more. Then the spring goes over the end of the shaft.

If you want to make it easier to reset the odometer bend that copper colored spring back a bit that is beside the reset button.
