6 Volt Bosch horns 444-544

Does anyone have experience rejuvenation the Bosch horns?

I am restoring a '59 PV544, 6 volt. I have the horn relay clicking but no horns. I pulled the horns and did a direct connect to the battery but no sound from either. I opened one and it is very clean and dry inside, looks like new.

Am I missing something.

Thanks,

Vince in Billings

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Are there "points" in the horn itself? It looks like it has a coil and a capacitor. I didn't see "contacts." I'll pull them out again and take a look.

I'd say, yes, you are missing something. I re-did the horns on my '60 myself. Pull them apart and clean them.

I don't remember it being anything difficult. Make sure all the contacts are very clean and use an anti-corrosive paste on all the electrical connections.

They worked like a charm after that. Sound awesome too! What a BLATTT.

Are the points clean?
The adjustment on them is pretty picky.
