Starts for a second and then no start 700 1986

The car quit after 10 mins of driving with no previous symptoms. It would not restart. So far I have swapped out the fuel pump relay, the ignition module and have spark at plugs and fuel at the fuel rail. I can let it sit for an hour and restart, getting it to run for 1 second. Then I crank again getting nothing. I have checked FI ground wire on manifold and tried unplugging the AMM. 1986 apparently does not have radio suppression relay. I do not want to throw parts at this car, could use some suggestions. Please help.

I have jumpered around the relay. The main pump appears to be working but no sound from intank pump. I have more than a half tank of gas in there.

What if you go to the trunk and see if you are getting voltage to the in-tank pump? If so, what if you disconnect the harness to the pump and then apply 12V to the pump and see if it spins?

Will the car not start with the in-tank pump not working? I can spray starting fluid in the intake and car will run for a few seconds.

Car should run with dead intake, but not the main. Fuel pump regulator? Pull vacuum line off the front and if fuel drips out or smells of fuel, its probably bad.

The fuel pressure regulator appears OK. swapped it with a known working reg. The car will run for a couple of seconds and quit. I've cranked engine for a few more seconds and checked plugs, wet. So now suspect flooding.

Then either no spark, intermittent spark, or jumped time I would look at.

The wiring harness under intake manifold had a few corroded wires that were shoritng out injectors. I removed intake and patched wires and it runs. Hooray! Now off to the California Air management buyback program for $1000. It was fun while it lasted, but don't feel like replacing wiring harness. Thanks for everyones input.

Jumper around the relay and see if the main pump will run. See here.
