In an effort to figure out why I have such high crank case pressure, I've taken the hoses off and now I can not remember which way the PCV valve is supposed to face.

Is there a way to tell?

The car is currently wearing a b-20 out of a '75 240, if that makes any difference.

The best method is to hold it vertical and blow through it. If no air goes through, that is the 'up' side towards the manifold.
