Wipers stay on 120-130

Since I have had my 122 I have noticed that once I pull the wipers they come on just fine. When I go to turn them off I push the switch in and it tries to go to park but then restarts wiping, over and over again. Despite how many times I pull and push the switch they stay on.

The only way that I can get them to turn off is to pull over and completely turn of the car, lights, stereo, etc. Wait a few seconds, turn it back on and it returns to park.

Any help out there?

thanks

Problem with Parkswitch or Dynamic braking! 120-130

Ryan;

I'd have a look to determine which vintage system you have installed (see article for the various manufacturers and configs)...if you have an early system, there likely just a problem with the Parkswitch...if a later system with PM motor and Dynamic braking, it certainly sound like you have NO dynamic braking and the mechanism is riding right over the stopping point...

See: http://www.sw-em.com/Windshield%20Wiper%20Systems.htm

Cheers

Sounds like you need to pull your wiper moter and clean up the internal slider switches that control the self park. There have been threads on this problem recently, have a search.

Remove or cut the wires that control the self parking. As a result the wipers will stop immediately when you push the switch in, but you will find that less frustrating than wipers that can't be switched off at all...
