Location of k-jet injector seals? 200 1982

Hi all,

I pulled one injector the other day and couldn't, for the life of me, figure out where the injector seals go. I bought a new set. I have a starting problem, and wanted to rule out the easy things.

I've visited k-jet.org, but can't find a diagram of where these things go.

Thanks,
Jesse

Hello,

Assuming you have a 4 cylinder Volvo,

The injector o-ring seal for the injector is mounted on the injector itself.

It is not uncommon for the seal to stick to the plastic injector housing that is bolted to the cylinder head when removing the injector.

BTW, there is another o-ring to seal the plastic fuel injector housing to the cylinder head and this seal can also be the cause of vacuum leaks.

If it makes it any easier, the thick seal is the one that goes on the injector, inside the plastic housing. The thin one goes on the outside of the plastic holder to form a seal against the head. I found that this thin seal needed to sit near the top of the holder to form a seal almost flush with the top of the head when inserted. I couldn't get a good tight seal if it was sitting further down the plastic holder. Before I changed them on mine, dirt was forming the seal against the head, and the thin seals disintegrated on removal.
