Code for oem stereo 200 1988

I got a OEM stereo from Upull. I didn't think it would ask for a code but it did.
Is it useless without a code? If I would go back to Upull ( which I have to soon) can I find the code in the owners manual or where should I look?

Thanks in advance,
John

I'll check with a dealer.

It came with the dashpad and since I didn't have stereo I took it to, I don't even think I paid for it actually. But now since I spent all this time installing it I might go with it... and I like the Oem look...and tapes...

John

Common question. Two options:
1. Check if a previous owner wrote the code in the owners' manual.
2. Go to a Volvo dealer parts department and they can find the code. You may have to prove you really own the thing.

if you have a nice volvo dealer they can look it up for you. you'll need the serial number(s) on that radio and maybe the VIN of the car it came from.

personally i don't think oem units are worth the trouble (even for the cost), unless you are after an oem look.
