Camshaft for '81 with K-Jet 200 1981

I'm thinking about a new camshaft for my '81 245 K-Jet and called IPD only to find out that they no longer sell various cam shafts. They only carry one for Turbos. My goal is to provide a little more torque in 4th gear and overdrive at low,i.e., 1500 to 2500, rpms. The car is very sluggish. Would an adjustable cam gear be a good alternative? Thanks
Jim

I believe you should already have a 'B' cam - it's a good cam, and you won't find very much improvement by swapping. If you use something like the turbo cam, you'll lose mid and upper-range performance. Cam gear might help, but be prepared to be under-whelmed by the results.

Depends on what you have now.
I've got a Canadian market A cam which will give great mid range.
Write me from my site www.sucarburetors.com if you are interested.

You might try a T cam out of a turbo car as these were designed to maximize torque in the low (7.5:1) compression early turbo motors. Getting an adjustable cam gear and playing with it would also prove beneficial.

If you can't find a cam locally, shoot me an email. It's wrenwright at gmail dot com.
