What are some common problems with the evap system on the s90 that would throw this code.

We had an identical problem on 98 V-90 (throwing 440 codes) and it turned out to be the evap emissions control valve. Has been repaired for 3 months and not a single code thrown. Good luck.

Can someone tell me where this evap valve is and what it looks like, can it be cleaned?

I switched the gas cap and still got cel a few days after. I didn't think its the cap because when im really low on gas there is a loud hissing sound when it releases pressure. What to check next??

Check the hoses to evap canaster , they are small conection hoses that are two different,
sizes also check hoses that go into hose tree drivers side mid point of engine.
Lots of hoses etc associated with this evap system , I have had good luck doing a smoke test

Evap canaster is located under car near middle fuel filter shares housing with it, A smoke test is done by removing hoses and inserting a smoke tester machine it pumps smoke through associated line and where their is a hole etc it pumps out.I paid approx 30 dollars for this procedures and found 2 small hoses that were bad.

Start by checking the gas cap, reset code and see if it comes back
