Access to the turn signal switch 120-130

It seems like I will need to remove the steering wheel to gain access to the turn signal switch. Is that correct?

I want to check all of the electrical connections and clean it up to see if I need a new one or not.

Any advice on how best to do this is appreciated.

Thanks!

Access to the turn signal switch 120-130

A hub puller later and the wheel is off. My turn switch seems to be faulty, as it likes to emit smoke. Ugh!

I looked at the switch and it seems to be hard wired. What's the best way to swap out the switch with a new/used/working one?

According to the green manual, the wires are disconnected from the switch by "pulling straight down".

Good luck,

Access to the turn signal switch 120-130

Hello,

Up until recently, good used was the only inexpensive option, with new old stock units garnering over $200.00.

CVI has had them reproduced for what I think is a reasonable price and for the first time I will say, "Unfortunately, I do NOT have one in stock".

I installed the 1800 version recently and it looked and acted just like the original.

Thanks Barry and Eric.

I am trying to get my hands on a used one. The issue is clearly in the switch, evidenced by the smoke coming from it =)

Needless to say, it's hand signals for a while.

Wish me fun.

The switch in my 1968 122 was replaced with one from a 164 many years ago. Maybe that would be easier to find.
