Vent covers 200

There is a posting in the classifieds for vent covers wanted from Bart242GT and I thought it worth posting an answer here. Another poster made this suggestion quite a while ago----both Home Depot and Lowes sell a magnetic panel kit for covering home heating vents during the "off" season. The package is less than $5 and cut up they can take care of three cars. I have to park under a big old oak--it drops brown stringy things in the spring and acorns/leaves in the fall--the covers work great to keep all the junk out of the vent/heater system. -- Dave

If you just want to cover them while the car is parked try using Glad Press and Seal. It pulls off clean and easy. No adhesive!

I use it when ever there is a tree above that is dropping leaves. Which is all the time at my in-laws house in So. Calif. Its one of those Calif. Oaks. It never ever stops shedding, year round I think.

I'm not sure that that product caught on very well. I was recently visiting with them and had forgotten to bring my old roll with me. I went to Walmart and there was only one roll on the shelf!

I may have made that manager, very happy...???

I have two other rolls from years past, that I got at Costco. I haven't noticed it since that time, being sold there either.

Oh! by the way. If you happen to slam a door with the windows up (with vents set for outside air in) you may have to press a bulge back down.

This is indeed a timely reminder to all us vent-screen deprived 240 owners. Fall is approaching!

To prevent debris, I think this is what he was thinking of .... 200

I think that the guy may have been asking about "Snow Caps", which are great for keeping leaves and berries out, but lets air circulate through when you're driving.

I installed a screen on mine, better to keep smaller objects out.

This is for the earlier 240's, with a single large vent:

This (painted to match body color) is for the later 240's, with a pair of smaller vents:
