Can someone tip me off to a reputable mechanic in or around Providence, RI? A friend back East is looking for someone a little more 240-friendly than her current shop.

    Let me also strongly advise AGAINST Swedish Motors in Providence. Myself and many of my friends have had numerous issues with them.

    There's Tomasso Swedish Motors in Providence.... and Lenny at International Motor Group on the Warwick/East Greenwich line. My family gave *lots* of business to Lenny back when I lived up there. They ran a loaner fleet of 240/260's for a while.

    What year is the Volvo? I'm like 10 minutes from Providence and have a good assortment of spare LH2.4 parts like ECU's and AMM's.

    There is a guy in Freetown, MA (outside of New Bedford) that is supposed to be terrific. If his name comes to me I'll post again.

        This guy might be retired by now but his reputation is impeccable. Specializes in Volvos. About 5 minutes north of New Bedford.

          There is also a guy on Rt 108 in S. Kingston, Pierce Imports. A few years ago did very well on older Euro cars. He is across from the J Deere dealership.

            Send it to Made in Sweden on Mink Rd in Seekonk. Both Rick and Jeff worked for Auto Show (now Tasca) in Seekonk for 16 years and know all Volvos inside and out. Also VERY honest!
