Do you know what the exact color code is?

Here are a few sites that I have found, that are the best for finding the right color:

I don't know PVs, but shouldn't there be a number plate under the hood with the paint code? Where is the chassis # located?

Yes, there is a data plate on the firewall of your 444. It's in the engine compartment on the passenger side. This would have the paint code. If it left the factory as a red car the third line on that data plate would be #46. Some paint brands can match that and others don't have the exact info.
