Older rear mud flaps on a 1990 240 sedan? 200

My daughter loves the vintage 240 mud flaps from the (I think) pre-1985 240s and would like a set for her 1990 240 sedan. I'd get them for her for Christmas but I am not sure I can install them "attractively."

Anyone with any experience out there?

Thanks.

D.

I went the other way, put old 240 flaps on my 1967 220. They look great, thank you RIVERBEND.

If there is no bracket, get a piece of aluminum (no rust) that is already bent at 90 degrees from your local hardware store plus a few stainless bolts and nuts with the plastic insert and some large washers for the flaps.

The mud flaps will look good on her car!

Ok, I found the site that sells new OEM mudflaps front & rear $18.05 each.
Go to Swedishautoparts.com and to to Accessories to find the link to them.
I'm going to do this and will post how it turns out.

    Wish me luck.

Sorry about double post, logged in first rather than typed reply and apparently enter also is submit even on password line.

MAIN ISSUE Where do we get the real Volvo mudflaps as I to have an offspring that wants them for a 740 wagon? Mever found them even at big PnPs. The right one says VOL\ as it has a chunk broken off. Also, the custom floor mat company that would embroider logos in carpet floor mats has moved from Seal Beach CA or shut down, anyone know of another company? After all , it's Merry Christmas Time soon for Volvo families!

(UNFORTUNATELY I STILL HAVE THE OLD SCHOOL CRUMBLING WIRING HARNESS, BUT I HAVE THE REPLACEMENT AT THE READY.) ANYONE WANT TO HELP WITH THE INSTALL??

I'd be interested in how it would look too. Maybe there's someone out there who's a wiz with photoshop and could put it together and post some pics here.

Tell your daughter she has great taste! I want to do the same thing when I paint my brick. (mostly, I want to lose the plastic "cladding" at the bottom edge of my '93--I like the look of painted metal over plastic) I think it will require removing cladding with the moulded flap, patching the holes where the cladding is attached then attaching the sheet metal "ell" bracket and old style flaps to the bottom of spare tire compartments. I guess you could bolt the old flaps to the moulded ones, might hang a little low, though. let me know if you do it.
